You reposition quickly with a single click of the space bar. PvP has us hopping like a bunny, and POE2 has us rolling like a pillbug. No matter where you are, you will get access to a bumbling (in my opinion) dodge roll. This is not reflected in the Monk that we were watching yet, since it specializes in mobility by a force of force. ![]() There are apparently many changes to combat, but practically everyone knows how to move in the melee scene. Rogers emphasized that the melee combat in POE2 feels a lot different than before, and it looks like a lot of other scenes from the film. When I was observing the demonstration of the Monk fighting, one thing stood out more than everything else: mobility. Combat or the glory of dodge roll is the ability to make a dodge roll, but be careful not to throw it. I do think these mechanics will make the game more smooth and better. Though I’ve got an understanding of what it is subjective to call these the best bits of history, I am very excited to experience combat mobility, weapons and skills swapping, and the built-in weapon skills introduced in POE2 so far. And here, I’ll focus on the mechanics which caught my eye and caught my breath when former executive producer Jonathan Rogers revealed them in the press pre-briefing. The ExileCon keynote for 2023 is over, but there are still a lot of details to know. The studio is really great at other things, but I always get along with GGG and the devs offer endless information about The Path of Exile. If there is something that Grinding Gear Games excels at, then it is the meaty info dump. ![]()
